The Wonders of Connecticut

As a native New Yorker living in Connecticut, I am constantly discovering new destinations. Yesterday, my boyfriend craved lobster, so he treated me to a maritime dinner at Abbott's Lobster In The Rough (see below for their web address). Abbott's is currently only open on the weekends, and they feature an outdoor, relaxed atmosphere and a very basic menu consisting of lobster rolls, crab rolls, salad, cole slaw, and lobster bisque. The property is on the shores of the Long Island Sound, and we ate overlooking the water, watching ocean birds and even a steam boat tour go by.

Abbot's is in Noank, a town bordering Mystic. The area is quaint, and many homes and buildings are historical sites. A drive through this simple, scenic, relaxed landscape will soothe anyone's soul (even mine).
